What Are the Differences Between the Jaguar I-PACE and Audi e-tron?

Price is always an important element of the car-buying decision – even when you consider luxury automotive brands – and the Jaguar I-PACE electric luxury crossover promises to be a fan favorite in this 2019 Jaguar I-PACE vs 2019 Audi e-tron comparison. With a price that starts at just $69,500 and a smorgasbord of high-tech, luxury features, the Jaguar I-PACE promises excellent value in a growing segment.

Entry-level Jaguar I-PACE S trim levels come standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, a Meridian™ sound system, LED headlights, premium Luxtec upholstery and a Touch Pro Duo® infotainment system that features a 10-inch upper touchscreen and a 5.5-inch lower touchscreen with one-touch access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. At the heart of the Jaguar I-PACE design, you will find an electric powertrain that employs a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery and dual high-torque electric motors. With this combination under the hood, the Jaguar I-PACE will make 392 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque that contribute to a zero-to-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds – numbers that the Audi e-tron cannot match. An electric driving range of 234 miles is perfect for short family adventures and daily commutes in the San Antonio area. With a DC 50-kW charging source, the Jaguar I-PACE can be charged from zero to 80 percent in just 85 minutes. Jaguar I-PACE models can be recharged at home in just over 10 hours with a regular AC outlet.

Audi e-tron entries counter with a 95-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and dual electric motors that will manufacture 490 pound-feet of torque – numbers that fall short of the all-electric Jaguar crossover. An EPA-estimated driving range of 259 miles is impressive for the Audi e-tron, which still falls short of the Jaguar I-PACE in terms of price and performance. Inside, the Audi e-tron makes room for five passengers with 28.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
